RMS Locotec have a placement for a Service Engineer.

Job Accountabilities

To undertake duties planned for you which will include butare not limited to; routine examinations of our shunter fleet,carrying out preventative maintenance, servicing, fault diagnosis, major and minor repair work, re-activation of shunters which have been stored awaiting repair, and workshop-based activities.

The applicant will be required to travel across the UK to our various sites, this will occasionally require overnight stays. This role may also include overtime and the ability to be on call when needed.

Undertake duties on diesel engines and associated, hydraulic, electrical, PLC and electro/mechanical equipment.

Carry out all operational and maintenance activities in accordance with our vehicle maintenance instructions (VMI)and RMS Locotec’s established maintenance criteria.Adhering to recognised engineering practices.

Ensure relevant engineering data, faults and repairs areaccurately recorded. Exam result information and fault-finding outcomes are to be suitably detailed for company and customer records.

Maintain good working conditions of equipment and ensure they are fit for purpose and meet operational requirements.

Ensure all administrative tasks inclusive of but not limited to; exam reports, timesheets, holiday requests, completed work orders, and spares requisitions are passed for processing following the company policies and proceduresin a timely manner.
