Our Hire Fleet
Loading and unloading freight vehicles, or positioning carriages for maintenance, is the function of the humble shunting locomotive. But for many, the ownership of such a machine - the maintenance, repairs, and the compliance with the statutory requirements - is but a distraction from the operators' real work.
RMS provides a 'self drive' locomotive hire service to cover such circumstances. Selecting from a range of locomotives - 30tons/200bhp up to 80tons/900bhp, and diesel electric or hydraulic, manual or radio controlled, the hire fleet is available for short term stand-in or long term (3 - 5 year) contracts.
With a locotec hire loco, you get a fixed price contract- as user, you have to check it, fuel it and drive it - and should problems occur, the support of a dedicated, expert team able to maintain and troubleshoot it at all times. Now doesn't that make sense?
