Overhaul of Sentinel 10070 and its new name.

In February of this year, after an extensive overhaul Sentinel 10070 was delivered to Barrow Hill Roundhouse for testing before moving onto its new home.

Whilst on test we took the opportunity to recognise the dedication and contribution of Brian Lark our Locomotive Hire Manager with a surprise naming ceremony in his honour, giving the Sentinel its new name ‘Brian Lark CME.’

It was a great evening, and it was nice to see so many faces from RMS Locotec’ s past and present join us in celebrating Brian’s achievements!

The overhaul of Sentinel Brian Lark CME (10070) was led by RMS Locotec with help from Independent Rail and nameplates made and supplied by Newton Castings.

As we centre our businesses to Chesterfield it is great to see all our teams working together so well, this project was a real testament to them all.

In August of this year, Brian Lark retired from RMS after over 20 years of service. He will be a sorely missed by all.

Brain Gratton who has been with the business since 2021, working closely alongside Brian Lark, will take the reins of Locomotive Hire going forward.

We wish Brian Lark an incredibly happy retirement and Brian Gratton luck in his new role.
